Kelvin Downes, Regional Director of Operations, Amazon

The Inland Empire Economic Partnership and the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce announced today that Amazon Regional Director of Operations Kelvin Downes will join this year’s lineup as the second Keynote Speaker at the Southern California Logistics & Supply Chain Summit, taking place April 20 at the Sheraton Fairplex Conference Center in Pomona.

Downes will join more than 500 attendees and over 20 industry experts in providing information on the state of the logistics and supply chain industry, the economic engine of Southern California.

Downes is the Regional Director of Operations for Amazon who held senior operational leadership roles for 15 years, positions in the UK as well as the US, prior to joining Amazon. His experience ranges from electrical and utilities industries to the retail industry.

At the Summit, Downes will be sharing his passion of achieving two fundamental objectives: creating the highest level of customer satisfaction and enhancing people through development of technical or leadership skills.

Downes graduated from the Nottingham Trent University in the UK. In 2003, he relocated to the US where he lived in Massachusetts, New Mexico, and Pennsylvania prior to his current residence in Northern California. He and his wife became proud US Citizens in 2011 and enjoying raising their four, young children.

Amazon is a major participant of this year’s Logistics & Supply Chain Summit, an annual event co-hosted by the Inland Empire Economic Partnership and the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce.

Summit attendees will learn from logistics and supply chain industry leaders as they share their experiences in growing and managing a profitable business and discuss the issues that face one of the region’s signature industries.

There will be numerous presentations of interest to people in the industry, including points of supply chain congestion, workforce development, ecommerce impacts, and the efficient use of geographic mapping software.
